About

Hi and thanks for taking a look around my website.

My name is Leon Steber and I am based in Brighton in the UK. I photograph the offshore oil and gas industry, primarily images of offshore oil rigs. Hopefully you will find something of interest here and feel free to ask me questions or add comments.

Most of the photos of oil rigs on this site were taken in the Norwegian North Sea but recently I have also been working in West Africa, Brasil and in the UK sector of the North Sea.

All photographs were taken either with a Canon 5D (prior to 2009) or more recently a Canon 5DMk2. I use Canon L series lenses. All images are available as either RAW files or DNG files. I can also save in other common Photoshop formats if requested, JPGs, TIFs etc. Under the “Details” of each thumbnail you will find the original Camera RAW image sizes.

I have only put a fraction of my images up on this website as there are many similar variations on one subject. For instance, if you see an image you like, but it is in the wrong orientation (i.e. portrait, landscape) or the subject is in the wrong position (oil rig is too centred, horizon is too high in the image frame) please still enquire as I may have variations you would prefer and can send you samples. I have tried to include all variations under the “Details” of each thumbnail.

If you have an image enquiry please contact me using the form on the Prices page. Please provide me with as much information as you can in regards to your image usage requirements so I can provide you with a more accurate quotation.

If you like my photography and want to see more of my work, please see my personal website at Leonsteber.com.

Cheers

Leon
