I have again been aboard the Union Manta in sunny offshore Angola working on the BP Block 31 PSVM (Pluto, Saturno, Venus and Marte) project. Scenery hasn’t changed much since my last trip here so below are some new photos of the vessels working within the oil field.
Shown above is the Heerema owned Deepwater Construction Vessel (DCV). The Balder was built as a semi-submersible crane vessel in 1978 and converted to a DCV in 2001.
Shown above is the C-Innovations Remotely Operated Vessel (ROV) being launched from the back deck of the Union Manta. In the background is the President Hubert, a supply vessel and the Heerema owned Balder DCV on the right. The ROV is used for pipeline survey and construction support.
Shown above is the Discoverer Luanda, a Transocean owned drillship.
The Heerema Balder is shown above again, this time at sunset with the Bourbon Liberty supply vessel alongside it.
As I am always on the Union Manta vessel I unfortunately never get to take any photos of it. But finally, as I was working on the Balder at the end of my last trip, I managed to get the one photo of it below.
